JOYCE HAAS: SUPPORTING EDUCATION

Joyce Haas is an Ally to PSU Students

Joyce Haas and her husband, John, a local architect who helped design landmarks like the Bryce Jordan Center and Beaver Stadium expansion, are both proud Penn State alumni.  She and John have lived here and raised their family in the shadow of Mt. Nittany, supporting many University-related causes and activities and throwing legendary tailgates in the Fall.  Joyce cares deeply for Penn State.  Protecting the interests of PSU students and building a better in-state job market for graduates are priorities for her.

Joyce supports for the Tuition Challenge Grant, a measure that will financially reward Penn State, as PA’s land-grant university, for capping tuition at first-year levels.

  • Joyce realizes the vital importance of funding education and supports increasing PA’s support for its flagship university.
  • The economic climate makes life tough for new grads seeking employment.  Joyce supports reduced government spending and revamping PA’s tax structure to attract new businesses that create jobs.

As a Penn Stater herself, Joyce will stand up for the best interests of her alma mater and its student body.  Moreover, she understands the vital role played by Pennsylvania’s many institutions of higher education.  Joyce Haas will always be a voice for college students and their guardians in PA’s public policy debates.
